Our Story

Our Story

We are a team of expert craftsmen based in Austin, Texas who work passionately to restore and preserve America’s most treasured historical buildings and homes. Our focus is on the historic restoration of wood windows, new handcrafted doors and commercial/residential fine woodworking. Our philosophy is quality. We believe in using the best materials and taking the time to do things right – knowing that the work we do will transcend generations.   We’ve worked on many old homes, mansions, museums and even a castle! We’ve also worked on the Alamo, the Texas Capital, The LBJ Texas White House, the King Ranch and six historic county courthouses (Coryell, Grimes, Live Oak, Comal, Blanco and Hays).

Red River Restorations began in a small workshop in Austin’s Hancock neighborhood, building custom wood window screens, screen doors and restoring windows for the surrounding Bungalows and craftsman-style homes.

From the beginning our team has been comprised of hardworking, talented, enthusiastic, intelligent and professional craftsman that truly care about their work. Attention to detail, creative engineering and innovation are inherent in each team member. What brings us joy and feeds our passion is working with our hands and brains, creating things of beauty, and seeing old things of quality restored to beautiful and ”well-cared for” condition. And then passed on to the next generation.

Quality, craftsmanship and durability - that’s what we pursue and strive to integrate into everything we do.
